Here’s the story, you’ve got your everyday skateboarder being harassed by the over authoritative police. The good news is that this officer has finally been reprimanded and is now suspended for his actions after the mayor and police commissioner saw that this video was making their police force look like a bunch of bullies. I think we’re all happy to hear that justice has been served in this case and remind the police that they are here to serve and protect, dude! The police should not to harass and berate our youth. From the article, “In the video, Officer Salvatore Rivieri tells the boy that skateboarding is illegal. The officer becomes angry when the boy says, “I didn’t do anything wrong, dude.”
Officer Rivieri is seen grabbing the skateboard and pushing the boy to the ground. “The police commissioner and the mayor and the top command staff saw the video this morning and are disappointed. The officer has been suspended with pay, pending an internal investigation,” Sterling Clifford told Richard Sher.”
